Jaxon Morgan finally made it up to the third floor. How on Earth did that administration think that juniors would haul all their shit up to the third fucking floor?! There weren’t any elevators, and Jaxon had to make three trips up and down. He was not happy. The first trip constituted of his clothes and other luggage. The second was the bringing up of a fifty-five gallon aquarium with a smaller carrier one would put a small dog into. If you looked through the bars of the carrier, you’d see light khaki and rich brown scales arranged in neat horizontal rows, and two dark brown serpent eyes looking back at you. Other bags and things were held in the aquarium; bedding, fake and real plants, rock formations, and a piece of driftwood, along with two bricks and two large clamp lamps. All of this was contained by a screen lid. The final trip, which landed him in front of his door, was his dancing stuff. Sets of tight clothing that allowed the most movement, shoes, and some CD’s were crammed into a medium-sized cardboard box.
Jaxon’s wardrobe has pretty simple today. A black hoodie with a white zipper and pull chords around the hood covered a light mint green shirt with a lighter green surf logo on the chest. His shorts were a basic pair of khaki cargo shorts. He wore simple black foam-rubber flip-flops with leather connecting them to his feet. The hoodie was zipped up partially so that you could only see the logo on his chest. Even though it was simple, it still complimented Jaxon perfectly, like usual. His blonde hair was swept into its usual style, and was in its natural color.
Jaxon used his hips to bump the door open again. He’d left it slightly ajar after opening it the first time so he could easily get in. He dumped the box onto his bed, and set to work. Hidden in one of his bags was a broken apart aquarium stand in black metal. Quickly assembling it, Jaxon put it against the wall closest the bed that he claimed on the right side of the room, next to a plug area. He took out Rem’s carrier, opened the wire door, and picked up the boa. She was three years now, and had reached longer than the average of her species. Most rosy boas reached about forty inches, and Rem beat the average by two inches. Jaxon flicked off his shoes, and padded to the door and closed it firmly so Rem couldn’t escape. Putting her down on his bed, Jaxon started to take everything out of the aquarium.
When it was empty, he set it on the stand. The first thing he did afterward was pour in the tropical substrate that was a combination of dirt and bark peelings. He then planted all the real and fake plants, and reattached the meters to show him humidity and temperature; one set for the basking area, the other for the cool area. They were placed so that you could see them if you were looking for them, but still hidden. He set out the rocks on the cool side, and placed the driftwood on the basking side of the tank. He then evened out the substrate, and added a power strip from another bag. Plugging it into the plug, he plugged in the lamp for the daytime basking and the nighttime heating lamp, both were still turned off. Jaxon then picked up the other small things and arranged them on the shelf underneath.
Rem had decided to wiggle around the room, and Jaxon caught her trying to slip off his bed. He smiled, chided the snake, and put her into the tank. He then put on the lid, secured it with bricks on each end, and put the lamps on top. He flicked on the daytime lamp and went about with neatening up everything. He started by slipping back into his flip flops, and turned to his dancing stuff. He packed it into the bottom of the dresser on his side of the room, and turned to working on his other bags; clothing first.

Aaron was excited to be going to a boarding school and out of his parents house for the school year. He didn't get along with his parents at all and often didn't even go home after school or for a few weeks at a time. He had about 3 trips however he just paid some other students to take it up to the room for him. He didn't like to do hard labor and he definitely wasn't running up and down the stairs 3 times, that is why they made money. He wasn't a snob though, he did some things without help. He noticed that the room door was cracked open so he thought he would meet his roommate.
He had been nervous up to this point, what if he got some loser that he didn't get along with or someone that hated the way he acted. Aaron also cared about looks so he wanted a good looking roommate. He pushed the door open and threw his things in the room. He saw a handsome, hell he was down right sexy, guy standing in front of a 55 gallon aquarium that held a rather big snake. It was a good thing that Aaron wasn't afraid of snakes, or else he would go screaming like a little girl.
Aaron was also a goal setter and the moment he laid eyes on his hot roommate was the moment he knew that he had to sleep with him this year. Most of Aaron's goals consisted of sleeping with people. Aaron let his eyes leave the guy and he quickly glanced around the room, trying to determine where things would go like his fridge and TV. He saw the bed that looked somewhat comfortable. He sat his bag that he was carrying down on the floor and took a step toward his roommate, "Hey, I'm Aaron looks like we will be sleeping together," Aaron waited a second, "in the same room," he liked to drop subtle hints of flirtation to the people that he liked. Some would call it inappropriate for a first impression but he liked to show people who he really was, not what they wanted.

Jaxon was caught up in what he was doing. Well, what he had just finished doing. Now, all of his clothes were neatly packed into the dresser. He was standing there, trying to figure out what to do next. Three now-empty bags stood in front of him. Where was some place he could get to them easily, but they would stay out of sight. Oh, duh. Under his bed. Although Jaxon usually didn’t like throwing things under his bed, it seemed like it was the only option at this point. But he still had two more bags of personal items to attend to. So, he opened them up and got to work.
Jaxon had only gotten through half of the first bag when he heard a sound from the door. Looking up, he saw someone enter the room. Jaxon at first wasn’t sure how to take the guy. The first thing that Jaxon thought when he saw the guy was, “He’s hot,”
but he pushed that thought away. There was no point in getting his hopes up. He’d never actually come out, and the idea that his roommate had the slightest possibility of being attracted to boys was too far-out for Jaxon. Plus, he’d never told a soul that he was gay. He couldn’t just drop the g-bomb out of no where. Life didn’t work like that. He smiled when Aaron introduced himself. “Hi! I’m Jaxon, but you can call me J if you like,” he said. He somewhat caught what Aaron was talking about, but he cast the idea away. “He just means in the same room,” Jaxon repeated to himself a few times mentally. “We’re just roommates, nothing more. Don’t get your hopes up,” he had to keep chanting to himself, or he might go crazy. “Oh, and that’s Rem over there. She’s a rosy boa,” he said, pointed towards the aquarium. A thought passed through his mind. “Oh, don’t worry, I don’t feed her live mice,” he reassured his new roommate. He didn’t want to freak the guy out or anything. Jaxon took a peek behind Aaron, and saw a few more bags. “Hey, sorry for claiming this side or whatever. I can switch if you like,” he said, trying to keep the conversation going. Then an idea came into Jaxon’s mind. “Oh, do you need help moving those in?” he asked, pointing to the bags. If he was lucky, Jaxon would bump into Aaron a few times, “accidentally.” Even if Aaron was straight, Jaxon could enjoy some time with him, right? That wasn’t against the law. Aaron laughed at Jaxon, quietly though, he was to adorable. Aaron grabbed one of the bags and tossed it on the bed he pointed to a bag that sat furthest from him, it was also the heaviest holding most of his technology, "You can get that one if you want, just sit it on the desk right here," Aaron grabbed another bag and threw it on the bed also, "and this side is great, however your bed looks more comfortable, maybe I could sleep on it sometime." Aaron liked to flirt with people, but in a secretive way.
He turned back to his bed and unzipped one of his bags that had a bunch of clothes. He started to unpack them and refold them. He laid them out on his bed in an orderly manner.

Now, Jaxon wasn’t exactly the most watchful person in the world. He was much too caught up in his own thoughts a lot of the time. It didn’t always serve a good purpose for him, either. For, had he been paying attention instead of thinking of ways to get into physical contact with his roommate, he would’ve noticed the quiet laughter. But, no, Jaxon wasn’t observant enough for that. Even if Jaxon had caught it, he might not have seen anything that he should attach with it.
Jaxon smiled. “Alright, I’ll go get it,” he said. He slapped himself mentally. He sounded way too eager to be helping with bags. If he kept it up, Aaron would think that Jaxon was in love with him, and Jaxon didn’t know if he was homophobic. What if Aaron found out and never let him live it down? Again, Jaxon had to redirect his thoughts to avoid some crazy worst-case scenario.
Jaxon turned to go towards the bag. He heard behind his back Aaron say something about his bed. This was the second time the other boy had made a comment about them sleeping together. Could he be gay? Or maybe bi? Jaxon was starting to arouse suspicions, but he angrily pushed them away. He’d done this before, find ways to convince himself that a guy was gay, and he was always burned in the process. It seemed that Jaxon would never find actual love, and this was not another time to get burned, especially with someone he’d be living with for the rest of the year minimum. Maybe semester if he pleaded enough. He didn’t let Aaron know what was going through his mind. He gave a small chuckle and looked behind his back, calling out, “Hm, maybe we can arrange something.” Leave it to Jaxon to accidentally flirt with someone, and not notice it. Only Jaxon could do it.
When Jaxon got to the bag that Aaron pointed out, he grunted with surprise. The bag was a lot heavier than it felt. But Jaxon would not admit defeat, not in front of Aaron. No, he powered through it and got the bag up. Carrying, more like half-dragging, it into the room he lifted it up onto the desk with some difficulty. “Geeze, Aaron, what’s in here, bricks?” he teased. His eyes glimmered with a playful sparkle.
Jaxon watched as Aaron sorted out his clothes. A sudden urge to go and wrap his arms around the other boy’s waist and lean in took over his mind. He had to fight it with all he could. To battle it, he sat down at the chair on his desk. Maybe if he could get some distance between them, it would be okay. This was not going well for Jaxon, and he needed to figure out a way to stop thinking about Aaron as anything other than a roommate.
As soon as Jaxon sat down, his iPod Touch started blaring music. “Your love is nothing I can’t fight / Can’t sleep with a man who dims my shine / I’m in the bedroom... I like it rough.” Of course the music was dimmed until the lyrics came through, and even better, it skipped to the chorus. I Like it Rough by Lady Gaga was blaring through his back pocket. Jaxon flushed a bright red, and stood up to scrabble for the device. The chorus of “You got me wondering why I like it rough” had just finished when he was able to shut it off. “Oops, stupid iPod,” he said. He’d done that before, butt playing a song. It didn’t help his iPod had built-in speakers.

Aaron laughed to himself, oh ya we can arrange something, anytime he thought to himself. He continued to arrange his clothes, he noticed that Jaxon had gone over to sat down. Aaron kind of wanted him to stand by him, but it wasn't time to do any flirting. Aaron quickly stashed his clothes into his wardrobe. He then unzipped the next bag to reveal his sheets, blankets, and pillows. He made his bed, when Jaxon's music went off. Aaron cracked a smile and turned around, "Lady Gaga, I'm a fan believe it or not, "just dance" and "born this way" are some good songs. I like lots of other music to though, I have a huge collection and hope to make my own someday,so Jax, if that is ok, what is your focus here." Aaron couldn't really judge, he looked slim enough to be a dancer, but he could also pull off acting. Aaron leaned his arms and back on the mattress looking directly at Jaxon.

Jaxon flushed deeper when Aaron made a comment about his iPod. He had hoped that the other boy wouldn’t comment and maybe just let the matter drop. Nope, no luck. Jaxon wasn’t surprised though; he doubted that he could resist saying something. But not he was forced to answer Aaron. “I dunno about ‘Born This Way’, but ‘Just Dance’ is a really good song. I really like ‘Dance in the Dark,’ ‘Judas,’ and ‘I Like it Rough.” He said. Then he realized what Aaron had really said. He was a Gaga fan! This meant two things. One, they had more common ground than just being performing arts students, but they liked the same music. The other was that potentially, Aaron was gay. Wait, since when did liking Gaga mean that someone was gay? There went his mind, going to assumptions based on stereotypes. Straight men could like Gaga.
Jaxon smiled. “Dude, that’s cool. You should see my iPod. I have everything there. Pop, rock, rap, show tunes, and techno, but I’d love to see your music” he said, smiling. He rolled his eyes, “Sure, Jax is fine,” he said. Inside, Jaxon was flipping out. Aaron had given him a nickname! It meant that Jaxon meant something to Aaron that he thought up a name for Jaxon, even if it was a shortening of his name. That and he offered to show him his music. Maybe… no. Until Aaron told him he was gay would Jaxon ever think there could be anything between them. “Oh, I’m a dancer. Nothing special, ya know.” Jaxon’s modesty was out shown by his talent. He was a pro at ballet, jazz, ballroom, and contemporary, but Jaxon neither bragged about it, nor thought that he was really that good. Sometimes he second-guessed why he was here.
Jaxon looked over at Aaron. His gaze had been drifting around the room as he said his last comment. He realized that Aaron was look right at him. Jaxon wanted to melt. Right there at that moment. The other’s stare was just enchanting, like Jaxon’s own Siren Song. A thought crossed his mind. “So, Aaron. You said you want to make music. What kind of music do you do?” he asked. He was trying to break the Song, and second, he was really curious. Thankfully, Aaron couldn’t ask Jaxon to perform for him, as there wasn’t that much free room for a dancer to feel comfortable dancing in. Jaxon found just one more reason to love Rem. Her large aquarium made dancing anywhere hazardous, because Jaxon could kick back or land awkwardly, and BAM! instant glass mess and a free-ranging snake. He was sure whoever the supervisor was wouldn’t like a snake that was three and a half feet long prowling the third floor, and neither would the juniors. Although they were all guys, Jaxon was sure at least one was afraid of serpents like harmless little, big, Rem.

Aaron didn't move at all, still leaning on the bed, he was smiling though, and he still had another bag to unpack with all of his stuff in it besides clothes and sheets. He nodded his head to Jax's music choice, "Very nice, I have just about the same, and some of my own of course, I have done a bit of recording." He continued, "I am not sure what I want to go into, I have a good voice for Rock or like Monster Ballad type music, but most singers have a better time doing musicals and I could do that also. What about you, what are you doing with your dancing degree." Aaron moved to grab his next bag, the bigges of all. It wasn't a typical duffel bag because it had big pockets in it. The bag consisted of a computer, a nice one at that, a compact recording station, very nice headphones. He sat them out on his bed, he would get to setting them up later, he wanted to talk Jax anyway.

Jaxon wasn’t sure how to respond to the fact that he and Aaron were so alike. They both liked the same music, and they were both performing art students, “Now only if he was gay…”
Jaxon couldn’t help thinking. Like usual, he pushed the though aside. He was not going to do anything. If Aaron were, pray to God, gay, Jaxon would let the other make the first move. Aaron said something about recording his own music. “That’s cool that you’ve done your own stuff, I can’t play music for my life, let alone read it. I’m better at giving it physical movement,” he said. His voice accidentally placed a bit of emphasis on “movement,” but Jaxon didn’t care. He’d rather give Aaron a few subtle hints than leave him in the dark. Maybe Aaron would get it and ask Jaxon if he was gay or something… but how would he respond? He wasn’t sure he could. Now, Jaxon had to think for a minute. “I’d like to be one of those professional dancers. I’m really hoping I can get into Julliard out in New York for college. I’d like to be a dancer for Gaga or Kesha on their tours. I’ve seen Gaga’s concerts and they have amazing choreography. Or maybe be a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars or go on one of those dance shows. Those would be cool too,” he said, and he put his arms behind him and shifted his weight onto his locked elbows. Jaxon watched as Aaron pulled out his technology. This guy was loaded, or he was in some serious debt. “Those are some nice toys,” he said. This was one of those times that Jaxon wished he had some other term for things. He really, really hoped that his roommate didn’t think he was a creep or something. That would suck if he just ruined everything between them, whatever that was. He heard some rustling behind him. Rem decided that she didn’t want to be in the aquarium right now since she could see people. She was pushing against the screen cover. Jaxon knew that she was a stubborn snake and would rub her nose raw if she knew that Jaxon was there to get her what she wanted. “Uh, hey. You don’t mind if I take out Rem, do you? She really, really wants out and she’ll rub herself raw until she gets what she wants,” he said. He really hoped that Aaron would understand that this was Rem’s idea, not Jaxon’s, and that he wasn’t trying to show off his animal. Rem, on the other hand, was starting to get annoyed that Jaxon was not meeting her demands this very second. Character;; Jaxon Morgan. Tagged;; Aaron King. Word Count;; Four hundred fifty-three. Aaron smiled when Jax complimented on his stuff, although it the actual things didn't mean that much to Aaron. He just used his parents credit card to buy it, which he did for everything. He sat the stuff down on his desk in an orderly fashion and looked back at Jax and the aquarium with the snake. Aaron never had any animals, and he didn't care to much for them, but he didn't dislike them, they were just a lot of work he didn't want to do. Aaron nodded his head up and down, "Yea you can get him out, she is your snake and they don't bother me." Aaron looked at his cell phone and realized that it was getting about lunchtime, although he didn't have to look at clock to figure that one out. He looked back at Jax, "so do you want to grab some lunch with me, I am getting kind of hungry, and its cool if you don't, I understand if you aren't hungry." Aaron quickly looked down at his clothes, he wanted to look nice when he was first seeing the people that he went to school with. He had to make a decision whether change in the room, he would be in his boxer briefs, or to go to the bathroom and change. He didn't know Jax all to well yet and didn't want to offend him, but he didn't want to have to change in the bathroom all year. So Aaron just went for and pulled off his shirt revealing his nice body, although not greatly toned, it was still nice. He then grabbed a button up shirt with stripes on it and threw it on, he buttoned it up but didn't tuck it in. Then he took a deep breath and pulled down his pants, and then realized that his jeans were in the bottom draw so he bent down for about 10 seconds, show his butt in tight boxer's. He quickly then threw on the jeans and buttoned them up.

Rem was not happy. Jaxon was not paying attention to her! Couldn’t he freaking see that she wanted out. The snake kept pushing at the lid. Jaxon knew it wasn’t going to work for her, and he was glad that Aaron didn’t mind that she came out. He walked over to her aquarium and took off the lamps, which he turned off, and the bricks. As soon as the damned lid was off, Rem was already slithering over the top of the aquarium. Expertly, Jaxon grabbed her so that she wouldn’t take his grab as a threat, and let her start to coil around his arm. Jaxon picked up the rest of the snake’s body, which was short compared to the more popular ball python, which could reach the length of sixty inches.
Rem’s tail started to coil around Jaxon’s other arm, until he turned his arm to uncoil the serpent and placed her so that Rem’s body was falling off his arm, forcing her to find a way to coil around one arm. Most people would ask how Jaxon could deal with Rem coiling around his arm. He always laughed at the them. In truth, she didn’t squeeze to kill his arm, only to hang on, and with so much body, her grip wasn’t that strong. When Jaxon sat back down, Aaron was already asking him another question. Jaxon didn’t really have to think twice about his answer. “Sure, I’ll go out with you,” he said, and realized his mistake. “I mean, sure I’ll go out to lunch with you,” he said, trying to fix his bumble of speech.
Jaxon had been looking down at Rem for a minute, trying to hide the flood of color that came up to his cheeks. Sometimes Jaxon needed to keep his mouth shut. There really wasn’t any reason why he should ever talk again. He always made these mistakes. At his last school, he almost came out, but he never had the chance. He’d been swept up here to Knox before it happened. And now he knew no one, and didn’t know who would catch him and help him face the bullies that had to be in the school. When he looked up, he was basically face-to-face with a shirtless Aaron. Holy shit. Hoooly shit. Holy fucking shit. Jaxon liked what he saw, but he couldn’t let Aaron know that. He hid his face again, looking back down on Rem and concentrating on nothing but her. He forced himself to not look at Aaron until he saw him finish dressing out the corner of his eye.
He looked back up at Aaron. He was dressed a lot nicer than Jaxon was, with a button-up and jeans. Jaxon felt immediately like he was underdressed and shouldn’t ever be seen in public with Aaron. He’d just look worse than he usually did out in public. Jaxon knew that now Rem was out of her aquarium, she wouldn’t be happy about going back in. “Hey, would it be okay if Rem could prowl the place? She’ll stay around my stuff, though I can’t promise she won’t investigate yours.”

Aaron noticed him purposely not watching, he just thought Jax was uncomfortable by it, that wasn't Aaron's purpose. He looked around the room and then grabbed a tablet from his book bag. He looked at Jax, "yea let her roam, thats cool," he waved his tablet, "I guess we should make some rules for the room over lunch, you know, stuff that makes each other uncomfortable." He walked over to the door then he checked his pockets to comfirm that he had his keys, phone, and wallet on him. He waved his hands to guide Jax along and holding the door, "After you, Jax."

Jaxon tried to push the flood of color that he knew Aaron must be able to see. Jaxon hoped that Aaron thought that he was just uncomfortable with Aaron basically stripping in front of him. Not that he minded, and actually liked it, but he could never tell Aaron that. What would he think? Does he already suspect? Jaxon hoped not. And in response to his question, he smiled. “Thanks, man,” he said as he started the process of untangling a forty inch snake from his arm.
The process itself took less than a minute, which was really odd for Rem. She would usually recoil whatever coil Jaxon managed to get off his arm, but it seemed like she could feel that this was important to Jaxon. One, he was having lunch with Aaron. Two, they were going to talk about rules that would last the rest of the year. Put the two together and you get… no, not a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but a lunch date that would be huge for Jaxon’s entire year. Maybe he could tell Aaron there too… or at least drop some hints. No, not a few. Maybe one. Yeah, just one. One little tip, and he could let Aaron figure it out. Jaxon would rather Aaron come find him and ask him than go and tell Aaron. Much less awkward, right? “Alright, that sounds fair,” Jaxon said as he got up, Rem the boa now sitting on Jaxon’s bed with a look that read, “The hell happened?”
Jaxon smiled as Aaron held the door open for him. Smacking his side lightly, Jaxon checked that he had his wallet, and he could feel the key as well. Those were the two most important things to him right now. And Aaron held the door open for him! “What a gentleman,”
Jaxon found himself thinking to himself. “Now, if only he were gay…” he shook himself. That was the umpteenth time he’d thought that. He had to get that idea out of his head, and fast. “Thanks, Aaron,” he said as he walked out. The urge to lean over and kiss Aaron’s cheek was so strong; Jaxon had to look at the other wall as he went through to make sure he didn’t accidentally give in to the impulse. Aaron smiled as Jax complimented him on his gentleman characteristics. He shut the door behind them and made sure it was locked before following Jax down the hall to the stairwell. He looked around at the bottom of the stairs and saw a cafeteria style resturaunt for the kids that lived in that dorm, each kid recieved 3 meals a day, but there was also a student center that had various types of other places to eat. Aaron enter the cafeteria, once again holding the door open for Jax and waving his hands in front. He figured he would do it again since Jax seemed to like it upstairs.
(The rest will be continued at the cafeteria in a different thread to keep things organized)
