The sun was shining bright and the birds were chirping. It looked like the kind of day when in the movies , soft music played to brighten the mood. You know, right? I'm talking about the really corny ones, like with the princess as the protagonist. If you ask anyone with a brain, you'd hear that those movies are misleading. In life, all that ever happens to the "princess" is that she goes to skip through a meadow and her dress gets caught on the one random stick in the patch of flowers. The dress is ripped and she falls to the ground, all covered in dirt. Very rarely does someone help her up when she puts out her hand. That's what Knox was like. It was a sickly humorous fairytale.
Knox was vicious. A school for the performing arts sounds like a dream-come-true, it really does. But the truth behind the curtains is really that the school is filled with a bunch of aspiring performers who are competing to make it big. There are very few spots open in the world for fame and everyone wants one. With the harsh reality that only a few will make it, it's a cut-throat situation. That's how Jeremy felt. The opportunity was great, but it was damn hard to stand under all the pressure. His talent kept him from falling, and it kept him going. It was his drive for everything he ever did at school. It kept his mind where it needed to be.
Even with all the stress, lunch time was a really relaxing time of the day. Especially on nice days such as this one, it was enjoyable to sit by the windows where the breeze would flow in at the perfect temperature. Jem had never wanted to eat so badly in his life. If a cow collapsed in front of him, given the fact that a cow could have somehow gotten into the school, he would have eaten it. No joke. This kept him at a fast pace while he walked through the student-infested halls. Why are there so many people crowded here? With a talented group like this, you'd think they could walk right.. he thought to himself while he worked to push himself through the mobs.
He finally reached his destination after much aggrivation and was eager to sit in the sun with his food. While he stood on line, his eyes flickered from one side of the cafeteria to the next. In one corner, he watched six or seven freshmen chant at their table while two of them practically inhaled Pepsi from their cans. Chug! Chug! Chug! You could hear it from all the way across the room. Yea, that's great. Such a successful future, this school is in for.
In another corner, there were people beat-boxing while others took turns dancing. It was crazy how these people never stopped. It made Jem wish that he could walk around with his saxophone on his back. He could show those morons up any day if he was given the opportunity. Eh..later, he thought to himself. Before he knew it, he had reached the front of the food line. With a grin on his face, he got his food and headed for an empty table. Before he got there, some kid was far too into his dancing to realize that he was headed for Jeremy's path. The two collided and luckily, Jem was able to keep his food balanced. Will you watch it, dude? You could kill someone, he muttered before continuing on his way to the table.
Right before he reached the table, he turned his head to see something. Look out! someone yelled before he had turned to look. The genius who had knocked into Jem had just fell over with someone else across the room. Rolling his eyes, Jem turned back around. Damn! he thought the next second as he tripped over his own feet. As he hit the floor, his food went everywhere. He stood up with his face growing red to go get something to clean up the mess. His frusteration left him unfocused which led him to walk into someone else from the back. Crap..sorry..my fault.. I uuh.. meant to do tha-- nevermind.. He waited to see who the person was with embarrassment becomming evident on his face.
ooc: sorry..it's a lot of bs xD uum.. so anyone can reply. i don't care if we're just meeting here or if we already know each other..just indicate that in the thread and obviously to continue the thread, it'd be cool if you could sit down with Jem or something, rather than just walking away. haha(:

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open It was the middle of the day and let's just say, lunch was lunch and this was not just an ordinary lunch. Knox is not competitive, competitive doesn't even describe it. Oh no. More like nasty or vicious or even frightening. Reese just left the line of insanely hungry students and walked hurriedly to her table. It was noisy as heck in the cafeteria today which was quite normal. Everyone was on a different schedule and the schol was alive with chatter.
Caprice made her way through the crowd. It seemed as if food was flyign as people tripped, fumbled, and bumped into each other. It was pretty amusing, but Reese felt as if her peers shoudl watch where they're going. Really now, we're all grown here after all, she thought. Sighing, Reese continued across the tiled floor, her black leather boots making a small click clacking noise as she did. The arms of her vintage black Theory jacket were bent holding the tray. It was a little chilly outside and Reese grabbed something on her way out of her dorm. It went well with her favorite pair of dark washed skinny jeans that were currently tucked into thigh high boots. The outfit was topped off with a navy blue lace tank top that hugged Cappy's body beautifully, showing off her small waist.
As she continued, Reese heard quite a loud thud. It sounded as if another student had falen again. It was just, well, a little odd because it seemed to be quite near her. Looking down Reese noticed a tray of the special on the floor and a young man, who bumped into her and looked like he could be around her age. He looked absolutely mortified. As if he wanted to run out of there as fast as possible. ”Is everything okay?” TAGGED ! open! LYRICS ! take a breath - jonas brothersWORDS ! it's done, okay?OUTFIT ! ---CREDIT ! Jeremy only felt worse as he noticed who the victim was. He had bumped into some innocent girl. She was attractive, too. Why couldn't he have bumped into some ugly jerk? That kind of luck just didn't happen for Jem. He'd have done anything to stop blushing. It really sucked. He must've looked like such a moron, all jittery and what not. He took a few seconds to look at her. He had seen her around a lot, but he never really noticed until that moment how often he had been near her in class. He couldn't think of her name, but it was something unique. She was an awefully gorgeous girl and Jem was pretty sure that she was an actress.
He came back to reality as she asked if everything was okay. Everything's okay...more than okay..I'm fine..perfect.. He put his pointer finger up before saying, One second..don't move! I mean..you can if you want..just.. He stopped himself from babbling before it got really bad. Heck, it started out terribly. He wasn't good at talking to people while he was embarrassed, let alone talking to pretty girls. The more he tried to act calm, the worse it got. It was not his day.
He stumbled to go get paper towels to clean up the mess he had made that had luckily stayed off of him and onto the floor. He returned to that spot moments later and began to get his food off of the floor. Looking up at the girl while squating on the floor, he quickly finished up and threw it all into the garbage. I uuh..hope I didn't get any food on you or anything.. feel free to sit down here..I mean..if you weren't going to sit somewhere else. He smiled a little before running his fingers through his blonde hair, taking a seat at the table he had slipped near. You are such a damn screw-up.. he thought to himself.

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open It wasn't too bad. The poor guy was so embarrassed he couldn't stop blabbing. He was literally rambling. It was kind of cute in a funny sort of way. Caprice watched as more people stared and tried to make their way through. Everyone seemed to be snickering and laughing and pointing at them. Just because of the food. It was kind of annoying and she shot some serious glares back at them which caused them to walk off in a huff. losers...what's wrong with you people?she thought.
As he continued, Reese looked him over a little bit. He was pretty cute. At this moment, she wished he mentioned his name. Caprice smiled nicely and sat down. She could see that he was embarrassed. It looked to be the end of the world for this young guy. Caprice started on the salad that came with the special. She ripped open the italian dressing packet and speard it generously over the lettuce, tomatoes, olives and chicken. Then the seasoning, spices it looked like. Cappy took a bite, not bad, not bad at all.
She looked at the boy who was still staring at her wit his hands in his hair. He looked either shocked, scared, or terrified. Maybe a combination of all three. He really had no reason to be too embarrassed, everyone was clumsy and it's really no problem. Then again, she hoped he wouldn't end up on YouTube. She decided to break the ice and introduce herself. ”I'm Caprice by the way, Reese for short.” TAGGED ! open! So now he knew her name. Okay, baby steps, right? Things weren't going half bad considering the way they had met moments ago. Maybe things would go right more often for him if he wasn't such a spaz. He could start by blabbing a little less..but it was reflex. He couldn't stop rambling after a certain point. It's uuh..really nice to meet you..I mean actually meet you. I'm pretty sure you're in a few of my classes. You're doing it again.. shut up and tell her your name.. he thought to himself. I'm Jem. It's really Jeremy, but I won't be too happy if you call me that, he said with a grin though he was half serious.
He tried to think of ways to keep the conversation going on both sides. Normally, it was mostly his own meaningless ranting with no input from the person he was talking to. So uhh..what are you here for? He was pretty sure that she was an actress but he couldn't be positive. There were so many people at the school for their talents that he couldn't keep track of everyone. He sort of envied actors and actresses. They always looked like they were having so much fun on stage but he couldn't act for his life.
Not to be nosey or anything.. he added with a sheepish smile. He was beginning to calm down a bit from his horrid experience with dropping the food and all. Normally he was very confident, but one event like that could really bug him. That's why he couldn't be an actor. If he forgot his lines or something, that'd be it. It was different from playing his sax. He wouldn't be able to improvise after messing up his lines. He'd freeze and stand there in front of the audience, like his feet were chained to the stage floor. Man, things like that took skill.

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open With a smile, she responded. ”It's nice to mee you Jem.” Cute. defintiely. A little stuttery but cute. She thought. Reese wasn't exactly turned off, much less confused, but she figured the poor thing was either nervous or traumatized. She couldn't figure out which. Either way, Reese hoped he would get over it. ”I am a drama student.” Reese answered. She loved it dearly. She loved the thrill of performing and creating and playing a character, being someone else for a change, not that she didn't like herself, but acting is just so...amazing.
”What are you here for?” Caprice asked. He didn't look like a dance student, much too tall and much too much muscle. Maybe he was in drama like her. Or even music. That would be way cool. Even though Caprice didn't know of she could sing or not, she wished, but Cappy never tried. One day she would, hopefully with a professional vocal coach who knew what they were doing.
Caprice was almost finished with the pasta and was startign no the garlic bread. It was soft and so good! She almost lost focus talking to Jem. ”My sister is the same way. My parents named her Isabella, and she can't stand when we use her entire name. She prefers Bella or Belle.” Reese commented with a laugh. Bella was the best, but she could also be a pain. Her older sister hated it when her parents used her full name, but Reese always loved seeing the cringing look on her sister's face every single time.

Nice to meet you too, Reese. It really was. Now that he was finally feeling comfortable with her, he could have a normal conversation. It had taken him long enough to calm down, but he was getting there. It was evident in his tone and visage. So she is a drama student.. He knew it. He had seen her in plays at Knox. He liked going to the plays to appreciate the talent so many of the students had, especially since he seriously lacked talent in that area. The memorizing of lines, the focusing on tone and expression, the becomming someone else..it was way too much to think about at once. He did not know how they did it and it really interested him.
That's pretty cool..you don't know how much I wish I could do that. You guys always look like you're having so much fun.. I go to most of the shows here. Now he'd have to watch out for her. He couldn't even remember ever seeing her up there. It was something that he'd have to be waiting for to notice. Before knowing her, he wasn't going to recognize her up on stage. Now, he definitely would.
He grinned slightly more, clearly relaxed by the topic. Music always loosened him up, even just as a conversation topic. I'm a music student..I play soprano sax. Yea..I know. Sounds sorta dorky..but it's pretty awesome. He knew that to some people who weren't involved in the band department, playing any instrument other than guitar wasn't exactly cool. That had never stopped him from being passionate in his playing. He could improvise a jazz solo as easily as breathing. It was pretty much the only thing he was good at..like all of his talent in other areas just disappeared and piled into music.
He laughed lightly, noticing her infatuation with her lunch. He'd be doing the same exact thing if his didn't end up all over the cafeteria floor. Don't let me stop you from eating your lunch.. He nodded as she explained how her sister didn't like her full name. I completely agree.. I usually don't even mention that it's Jeremy. That way, it's not even an option. I like Caprice though. You like it? By that moment, he was his normal confident self. All of his nervousness had reverted to a more easy-going attitude, which was how he usually acted if he was in a good mood.
ooc: sorry, lmao. i couldn't stop once i got going:D

people change and promises are broken clouds can move and skies will be wide open With a smile, she responded. ”I love my name, it's just I'm so used to people calling me Cappy or Reese that not a lot of people address me with my whole name anymore.” Reese commented as she wiped her mouth. She laughed at his lunch comment and responded, ”Don't worry, i think I'm about done.” Reese pushed her tray aside and tossed her hair back then forward. It felt as if her hair was getting all messed up, she had to do something. ”It's a rush being on stage. It's amazing, thrilling, and yes quite fun.” Cappy answered.
Acting was the most precious thing to Caprice. Other than friends and family of course. It was like another world when she was on stage. It was like the real Caprice could coem through when she was in character and in the middle of a plot or storyline. Nothing compared to acting. Nothing. Reese longed for film, and maybe Broadway, but she was still contemplating moving to New York and the hearsh weather, not to mention the people and the noise.
”Music is great. I love it. My brother is a music major. He plays guitar. And sings too. I've never tried myself, but who knows.” Reese said with a laugh. She never tried to sing. Even though she knew she may have to know how for film and Broadway especially. She wondered if Jem could sing. He was lucky if he could. She waited his responses, considering they were coverign so many topics.
