distinguishing features ,
Jeremy can easily be indentified by his small build and his narrow face. He's about as German as it can get.
physical flaws , He hates his eyes because of how narrow they are. He usually looks like he's squinting.
personal style , He's pretty steriotypically a high school guy. He dressed casually and often has ripped jeans or plaid shorts. His style is sort of "skater" but he can cross to different styles at times. Sometimes he's more into the leather-jacket-type-of-thing.

Jem is a small guy, basically put. He is stronger than he looks, due to his arm strength which he has over the years of drumming developed. He is very casual and his hair is always uncombed. His attire consists of t-shirts, worn-out jeans and the occasional skater shorts, about knee length. He has the money for clothes in better shape, but he just doesn't care about his appearance enough to wear sharper clothing. His short height is probably the most dominant part of him as it makes him look a bit disproportionate. He is shorter than average though it only looks a bit..off..and is far from making him look like he has some condition to make him shorter than average.
Jem is very outspoken, which at times causes him to get into fights, though he absolutely despises them and would in any other situation enjoy the attention. He loves being in the center, performing, though he isn't obnoxious to get attention. He's a really messed up guy and he is never predictable. He can be really nice and watch out for people, as he can be really mean and ruin you if he doesn't like you. He always has a reason to dislike someone, however it doesn't take much to anger him. He will freak out over little things and believes everything needs to be precise. This stems from his need for every beat he plays to stay perfectly up to tempo. Rhythm must be exact, it must lead the music on. This is how he feels about life. He must be perfect, and he must do things his way to keep everyone else in line. He pushes to get everything to his liking.
Although his family is extremely insignificant to where Jem is today, his past is what led him straight to his current position in life. At a young age, he picked up a guitar with a passion to play. needless to say, that didn't go well. So he tried again. He tried piano. Didn't go so well. He had picked up instruments of every kind, longing to be ale to play music, which was what he loved so much. He kept failing, not able to recognize notes on a staff. He didn't understand relationships between intervals or key signatures. His skill with the drum set hadn't helped him figure out how to read music outside of rhythms.
Finally, he found a teacher who was willing to work with him patiently through his middle school. The teacher helped to pick out an instrument that would work well for Jeremy, which ended up being the soprano saxophone. It wasn't easy, but with constant meeting up , the two were able to pull talent out of the student. He still hated reading notes, but it slowly began to come to him. He didn't need as much practice with the music. He grew frusterated many times during the process, but eventually benefitted.
Before he knew it, he was improvising like a professional on the sax. He loved it. He was interested in jazz music and he went to audition for any bands he could find. It became his passion and he loved being good at something. He still loved the drums, but you can't get melody out of a drum. He enjoyed his newly found skill in his ability to make music.

history , Jem was always isolated. It wasn't by neglect, but by choice. He never understood the way other people thought about things. He always thought about other things, things that nobody seemed to care about the way he did. He knew he was different, and he preferred not to attempt to adapt to the behaviors of others. He developed resentment toward crowds and never enjoyed being around people. His parents weren't anything special. He was an only child. He basically had no way of getting used to people. If he had nobody he was really close to, how was he supposed to make good friends? The idea terrified him.

He had picked up instruments of every kind, longing to be ale to play music, which was what he loved so much. He kept failing, not able to recognize notes on a staff. He didn't understand relationships between intervals or key signatures. What he did pick up quickly from every instrument was the time. The lengths, the accents, he could count through measures perfectly. He could be a drummer.
His piano teacher had recommended the drum set. Hesitant at first, he gave it a try. Before he knew it, he was playing rhythms and able to read them off a staff. He knew them all so well that he could multitask, playing a different rhythm on the cymbals, high hats, bass drum, and snares all at once. After he figured out he could put his skill to good use, he began to make beats out of anything he could find. No matter where he went, he had enough to make music; his thighs, hands, and feet.
It opened him up in a way that nothing else could. He was always very quiet, and soon was able to become more outspoken. He changed a lot between middle and high school. When people see him playing, it's unbelieveable where his mind goes. He's a whole new person.

roleplay sample ,
What did this bimbo think he was doing? Laying down ground rules like he was king? He raised an eyebrow as the guy spoke. Okay..first off.. if you think that you can draw a line down the middle of the room and expect it to work, I swear to you that I will intentionally stick my finger over to your side just for self-amusement. Yea. I will be that guy. He was telling the truth, too. He wasn't going to put up with that 'you stick your toes onto my side and they get chopped off' crap.
After that, he just gave his new roommate the weirdest look as the tennis ball hit the floor. Second.. I'm not really sure what the purpose of you tossing that thing was. Because lemme tell ya, if you were supposed to hit me, ya missed. If you were supposed to intimidate me, next time, try a bit more force. He smirked. My, was he beginning to enjoy himself. Thirdly, if that was supposed to mark the half point, you should probably tape it down or something, because I've suddenly been washed with the urge to kick it. He stared down at the ball, trying to get it to move without touching it. He had tried that before, but it never worked, for whatever reason. Tonight , I must summon the force.. he muttered to himself.
Now, Peter was not the freak that he seemed to be. He was outgoing and didn't care what people thought of him. There's a difference between really being that person, and just acting that way to entertain oneself. Peter did it for entertainment. He did everything for entertainment, not giving a damn whether or not the people around him got the same enjoyment out of it. He was friendly, let's not misunderstand, though he knew how to annoy people he thought were dry. Peter, he finally muttered, coming back to reality. He wasn't even sure he wanted to hear his name come out of this guy's mouth. He wasn't exactly dying to hear his name spoken by a sportsaholic. Yours? Well, he may as well have gotten the guys name.
